Chicago Cubs Tickets – Riding the Wave
For the third season in a row Chicago Cubs tickets delivered a winning season in 2009. It’s now up to the Cubs themselves and a new wave of management to keep Cubs tickets riding a new wave of popularity. For too may seasons the Chicago Cubs were a likeable and hapless bunch, prone to being streaky, and breaking the hearts of Chicago baseball fans. Now that the club seems to be on more solid footing on the field and long term plans are in place with the new owners, Cubs ticket holders are hoping for an injury free season in 2010, one that could erase the memories of a late season fade.
Cubs Tickets – Piniella Pulls Out the Stops?
Having Lou Piniella at the helm of the Chicago Cubs has been a godsend. His experience and steady hand have guided the Cubs to a consistent winning style and bred hope for the future. Now as the 2010 Chicago Cubs look to challenge in the NL Central, expectations are that Piniella will throw everything he’s got at the opposition to cement a return and a long term deal.
And there’s no doubt Cubs ticket holders would like to the vet at the helm again. But Piniella will need a little better luck in 2010 to garner a long term deal. Injuries and weak trades derailed Chicago, an effect felt late in the season as the club dropped from a neck and neck division race to falling out of the money. DL time for 3rd baseman Aramis Ramirez and outfielder Alfonso Soriano, as well as NL Rookie of the Year Geovany Soto, crippled the Cubs offense.
Cubs Pitching – Entering a Comfort Zone
The Chicago Cubs can at least throw a solid starting rotation on to the mound. Carlos Zambrano had his ups and downs last season, but his troughs yielded a 9-7 record and 3.77 ERA. Expect Piniella to pick and choose his spots in the 2010 MLB season. Ryan Dempster is experienced and crafty, but he’s another pitcher that needs careful handling. Ted Lilly isn’t expected to start the season so Randy Wells will be called upon to fill in the gap. Wells won 12 games last season and posted a 3.05 ERA. The #5 spot in the rotation is up for grabs, with either Carlos Silva or Tom Gorzelanny looking to win the position.
Cubs Tickets – The NL Central Battle
The Cubs will have their hands full in the NL Central. Struggling in 2009 means baseball pundits are calling for a race between the Cubs and Cardinals for dominance in the division. With the Cardinals offense led by Albert Pujols and the defense featuring Chris Carpenter, Chicago will have to stay healthy and play steady ball to keep up. The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds are still building a talent pool while the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates look to be the weak links. So, it’s up to the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals to make a race in the NL Central. With just a dab of luck on their sides, Cubs ticket holders could be enjoying playoff tickets again in 2010.
